Cross-tubes

The intermediate cross-tubes are 45 mm (1 3/4") thick, and made with heat-treated 6063-T5 aluminium alloy. Upper and lower cross-tubes have a minimal height 88,9 mm (3 1/2"). Cross-tubes are manufactured without the use of threaded nuts, screws or soldering.

The stucco-embossed aluminum panels are 1.32 mm (0.052") thick, and fixed with rigid vinyl stapled molding. Available as single or double, insulated or shock-proof.

Insulation

Intermediate and lower cross-tubes are equipped with transposable EPDM rubber weather-strips to cut down on drafts.

Standard finishes

Smooth, clean and 204-R-I compliant commercial anodized aluminium, white or black.

AL-175 Hybrid

AL-175 Hybrid

Description

AL-175 Hybrid overhead sectional doors leverage the perfect blend of aluminium and steel for unmatched strength and visual appeal in commercial and industrial settings. AL-175 Hybrid also offer a wide range of glass panel options for optimal light and brightness.

Steel sections

Steel sections can be 44.45mm (1 3/4") thick, and come with 20-gauge, 0.86 mm (0.034") steel reinforcing strips for hardware installation. They are designed to allow for EPDM rubber gaskets, to circumvent thermal conductivity. The endcaps are made of 16-gauge galvanized steel, and are 1.6 mm (0.064"). Panels are made of corrosion-free galvanized steel, stamped with a grain-textured pattern. Sections are made using a continuous rolling process with a sandwiched polyurethane core (metal/foam/metal). The nominal thickness is (1 3/4").

The core is made of an eco-friendly CFC-free rigid polyurethane foam, cast on site. It is also surrounded by watertight materials to counter heat loss, with ASTM C236-89 compliant thermal resistance. Intermediate and lower cross-tubes are equipped with interchangeable EPDM rubber weather-stripping to cut down on drafts.

With a nominal thickness of 1 3/4", the most popular panels are the Urbania, Urbania MR, Contemporary, Grooved, MAC-175-S and MAC-175-A models. Refer to individual model information for panel details.

Standard finishes

Interior and exterior finishes comprise two layers paint, oven-glazed polyester paint over an epoxy-based primer.

Special finishes

Various colour finishes are offered to harmonize your door with surrounding architectural elements (see our chart).

Exhaust

Available in 101 mm (4") and 127 mm (5") diameters.

Wind load

Door manufacturing complies with wind load standards (ASTM-E-330).

Air infiltration

Air infiltration rates are 0.038 litre/sec/ft2 at 24 km/h and 0,062 litre/sec/ft2 at 40 km (ASTM-E-283-84 test).

Compliance

All doors are ANSI 102 and ASTM-E-330 compliant.
